We will hear stories of Neve Tzedek, of the founding families who built their homes outside Jaffa before the First Aliya. Twenty years later came the founding of Ahuzat Bayt as a Zionist outpost in the middle of the sand dunes north of Jaffa; just the founding fathers of Tel Aviv and their dreams.
Actually facing Tel Aviv is ancient Jaffa, the 5,000 year old port that is shared by Jews, Arabs and Christians. The town has many stories to offer, with its long rich history. This charming gem is rife with Mosques, Churches and charming alleys.
This port city on the Mediterranean, built by King Herod, boasts all the comforts available to and bestowed upon a citizen of the Roman Empire. Here we will see and 'hear' from important figures of the times.
We will visit the ancient Aqueduct that fed the large populace and explore inside a tunnel that was part of ancient Caesarea's water system.
Immediately north of the ancient city of Jaffa lies Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv started her life in the Neve Tzedek and Ahuzat Bayit neighborhoods.
We will visit local historical interest sites such as Ulam Ha'Atzma'ut (Independence Hall), the Diaspora museum, the Tel Aviv museum of Modern Art, the Eretz Israel museum, and the Palmach museum.
